Hi, I am Rosa Suviranta.

I am a doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, where I am part of the Multimodality Research Group and the Doctoral Programme in Language Studies. Currently, I am at Northeastern University's Civic AI Lab (as of October 2025) as a Fulbright-KAUTE Pre-doctoral fellow.

I received the Fulbright-KAUTE Foundation Award to support my research on fair and effective crowdsourcing for digital humanities, which facilitated my visit to Northeastern University.

My research focuses on scaling up the annotation of multimodal data through microtask crowdsourcing. I am particularly interested in facilitating complex multimodal annotation tasks and fair crowdsourcing practices while maintaining efficiency. Additionally, I am interested how multimodal large language models and other AI applications can be used for annotating complex data.
